Merri Bush Playgoup celebrates Nature Play Week 2019
April 18, 2019 @ 10:30 am - 12:30 pmFree
Merri Bush Playgroup is an all-weather outdoor playgroup for preschoolers (from birth to 5yo) and their famillies, meeting all year round along the Merri Creek. To celebrate Nature Play Week 2019 and encourage families to spend time in nature, we invite local families to come and play with us at our new gathering location, Rocky Woods in Northcote.
During a regular session, the children spend most of the time playing freely and discovering their environment : climbing rocks or trees, jumping in muddy puddles (an absolute favorite! ), spotting birds or insects, collecting sticks or leaves… We ask that no toy is brought to the session so that the children can use their imagination and the natural materials at hand during their play.
Then, we sit together and share morning tea, sing a song and read a book together.
What to bring :
– Sunscreen and hats
– Gumboots and waterproof overalls for children
– A change of clothes
