Join in the fun of Healesville Sanctuary’s Corroboree, a celebration of Australian Aboriginal people, their culture and unique relationship with nature. Connect to country through music, dance, arts and crafts, food, storytelling while discovering our new nature play areas all in a beautiful bush setting.
Interact with the dreaming, as we take you on a journey to the place where Bunjil the wedge-tailed Eagle creator spirit rules the skies and Woterang the platypus, the waterways. Discover bush foods and medicines, then tantalise your taste buds with a bush tucker tasting. Learn how to make a boomerang really come back and play a deadly game of Marngrook. Paint with ochre, weave with cumbingi reeds and learn a bit of language, like Babbajin for Kookaburra. Connect to Coranderrk, the spiritual heartland of the Wurundjeri people. On Saturday April 5th stay on for our Campfire Corroboree with Archie Roach, w here we’ll light the Coranderrk night sky with a magical outdoor evening of music; where the air is filled with the welcome of a smoking ceremony, the warmth of campfire and the waft of wattle seed damper. Let us take you into the dreaming, under a Coranderrk night sky, lit by the spirit of Wurundjeri ancestors.
