Burwood Forest School – Tools and Woodworking

April 14, 2022 @ 9:30 am - 3:00 pm

Details: It’s time to get kids off the screens and into our Forest School these school holidays! Our Forest School teaches children essential bush survival and bushcraft skills through hands on learning and nature based activities that are fun, engaging and promote self esteem, confidence, build resilience and most importantly encourage them to move and strengthen their bodies and connect with nature in a deep and meaningful way.

Each Forest School holiday program is different so no two will be alike. During this school holiday Forest School workshop, the children will learn how to safely use tools and with the loose parts we provide, have the opportunity to construct and build anything they choose.  The group will also go on a bush walk around the lake learning about the plants and wildlife, learn to track, play nature connection team building games, do plenty of climbing and best of all, make some awesome new friends!

Our forest school aims to inspire creativity, a natural curiosity and enriching sensory play experience while following your child’s interests at all times. We also ensure that children learn to use their bodies so that they develop strength, good balance and coordination while learning to take safe risks with guidance and support from the educators.

The forest school workshop is led by Adam and Cath.

Adam is an experienced Forest School Leader who has a background in Outdoor Education and a keen interest in bush survival and bushcraft skills.

Cath has more than 40 years’ experience as a special needs educator. She has an extensive background in working to develop physical and outdoor education opportunities and skills for kids.

Our small group sizes mean that each child gets individualised one one time and with our experienced facilitators to learn the skills they are interested in.
