Ecotopia Junction Festival 2016

This is a family friendly Earth Festival in Yarra Junction Parklands on April 10th, 10am-4pm. The theme this year is ‘River to Sea’ This is a popular, wacky and innovative festival that is a fantastic free day out for the whole family. In particular the kids activites include: The hilarious recycled fashion parade- entries open now please email: firstname.lastname@example.org Melbourne Water will be hosting Macroinvertebrate testing on the Yarra River at the back of the festival on the day. ECOSS will be demonstrating some of the schools program activites including propagating, organic information, worm spaghetti and more. Chris Morant circus will be present and a silent disco. There will be a main stage running all day with very high quality performances with loads of environmental messages from The Sound Mandala, The Anecdote, The Teskey Brothers, Mal Webb and Joelistics. On ‘The Green’ performances include ‘Trash Puppets’ The Connies, Zaar Belly Dance, African kids drumming and much more. There will be a big Tastings of the Yarra Valley, tasting the best of the Yarra Valleys food producers, including a giant pumpkin competition- please bring yours along! The huge market includes information from the most earth friendly groups including Plastic Bag Free Warburton- live sewing on the day, Sea Shephard, Landcare and many many more. Our market stalls must meet a very high criteria of sustainability to be able to have a stall, which creates a rubbish free and healthy amazing place to be. Also for the kids Futsal will run on the tennis courts, and the whole festival surrounds the Skate Park which is very popular to scoot or skate by the Main Stage on the day.
